These activities are organized by this Center under the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s “2025 Project for Promoting Advance Decisions and Patient Autonomy Literacy” to promote the理念 of the “Three Acts for a Good End-of-Life” (the Human Organ Transplant Act, the Hospice Palliative Care Act, and the Patient Right to Autonomy Act). We kindly ask you to pass this information on to related departments and programs in medicine, nursing, psychology, social welfare, long-term care, life education, and art and design. The aim is to enhance understanding and participation within the healthcare system and the general public regarding advance medical decisions, hospice and palliative care, and organ donation, and to foster interprofessional exchange and education on life issues.

The “2025 Essay Competition on Promoting the Three End-of-Life Care Acts” welcomes submissions of extended academic abstracts or case reports from professionals in various fields, healthcare personnel, and faculty and students of related departments, in order to share practical experience and professional perspectives. The “2025 Hospice and Palliative Care Text-and-Image Creative Contest” encourages people from all sectors to express the理念 of hospice and palliative care through creative text-and-image works, thereby inspiring public concern for, and action toward, autonomous choice at the end of life.

The submission period for both activities runs from now until 22 August 2025, and submissions are to be made online. The list of award recipients is expected to be announced by the end of October, and an award ceremony will be held in late November to publicly recognize the winners.
