To broaden students’ perspectives on the digital transformation of the long-term care industry and community-based innovation, the Department of Long-Term Care at Asia University invited Mr. Chang, CEO of Songbo Changqing Co., Ltd., to deliver a career lecture titled “New Models of Health Care: Digital × Community × Innovative Practices in Elder Care.” The lecture was held on the morning of May 20 in room M406. Drawing on his practical experience, Mr. Chang introduced how his team integrates a LINE bot, AI sensing technologies, a smart matching platform, and community participation to build an innovative system for home-based care and on-demand caregiver matching. The system has been recognized by the Ministry of Economic Affairs’ innovation and entrepreneurship program and has already been widely implemented at community care sites across multiple counties and cities.
The session also featured a hands-on activity in which students tried senior training toys used for older adults. One example was the “Mountain Trek” game, which requires bilateral hand coordination, helps stabilize neural signaling, activates cognitive function, and improves muscle endurance and coordination. Through group-based competitions, students not only understood the meaning of “disability prevention” in elder care, but also experienced the value that interdisciplinary design can bring to caregiving. One student, Hou, shared afterward: “I never imagined caregiving could be so high-tech and fun!”

This activity sparked students’ broader and more diverse visions for their future careers in long-term care, while also highlighting the university’s educational commitment to industry engagement and the integration of digital health and community-inclusive care concepts. Going forward, the Department of Long-Term Care at Asia University will continue inviting industry practitioners and startup teams into the classroom, enabling students to move from theory to practice and from the classroom into the community—cultivating a new generation of long-term care professionals with strong digital literacy and a deep sense of social responsibility.
