The Department of Long-Term Care at Asia University held its Freshmen Mentoring Week for the 2024 academic year from September 2 to September 6. Through a series of bridging courses, the program helped new students quickly become familiar with campus life and their professional learning path. The week began with an opening orientation ceremony, followed by an earthquake evacuation drill, the UCAN career assessment, campus safety briefings, mental health screening, and a guided tour of areas around the university, ensuring students were prepared for both daily life and study.

Midweek sessions focused on long-term care training, including an introduction to the department’s features and core competencies, explanations of graduation requirements and curriculum planning, pre- and post-assessments on care management, and beginner hands-on practice such as blood glucose measurement. Students also took part in diverse learning activities, including 3D human anatomy exploration, English skill development, and practical use of ChatGPT prompts.

Afternoon activities included meetings with the department chair, a student clubs fair, briefings on scholarships and support resources, sessions on emerging infectious disease prevention, training in long-term care terminology, and instruction on the student information system and digital learning platforms (TronClass and Teams). The week also featured class-building activities, student association introductions, tours of the library and administrative center, and a parent–teacher forum. Overall, the program balanced professional preparation, humanistic learning, and campus adaptation, giving freshmen a strong start to their long-term care studies.
