To enhance high school students’ understanding of nursing and long-term care, teachers and students from Yuanlin Senior High School recently visited Asia University. They toured the College of Nursing, where the Department of Long-Term Care arranged guided tours and hands-on activities, offering students an in-depth look at the department’s learning environment and特色課程.

During the visit, faculty members from the Department of Long-Term Care provided detailed explanations of the specialized classrooms and equipment, helping students understand how these learning spaces are designed and utilized in practice. Through the guided tour, students gained a clearer picture of what studying long-term care entails.

In addition, a VR experience was specially arranged to demonstrate dementia assessment and caregiving scenarios. By using virtual reality equipment, students were immersed in simulated environments where they could observe and better understand the behaviors and conditions of individuals with dementia, highlighting the importance of assessment and care. This immersive learning approach not only increased engagement but also deepened students’ understanding of the long-term care profession.

The visit concluded successfully, and the Department of Long-Term Care looks forward to continuing to provide diverse experiential and exchange opportunities, allowing more students to explore the field of long-term care and its future potential.
